This picture shows the same scene as above with a wide angle lens.
This picture shows in greater detail the sharp curve at the western end of
Highway 401 at Highway 3. This curve has a posted advisory speed of
70km/h both directions. Surely, this interchange would be rebuilt with
better geometrics should the 401 be extended to any new Detroit River
Crossing.

Highway 3. The Ambassador Bridge is located at

Highway 401 looking west from the North Talbot Road overpass in Windsor.
North Talbot Road is located at roughly kilometre marker 12. Notice
the speed reduction that begins just west of North Talbot Road. This
speed is reduced from this point on to the western terminus of Highway 401,
located about a kilometre ahead.

North Talbot Road overpass in Windsor. This picture shows the interchange
where Highway 3B (401A) meets the mainline Highway 401 lanes. Highway
3B serves the Detroit-Windsor tunnel, and was downloaded in its entirety in
1998.
Notably, this is the first interchange on Highway 401 from Windsor.

interchange. Highway 3B (Dougall Avenue) is a freeway for a short
distance west of Highway 401 to Howard Avenue. This short freeway is
often referred to internally by the MTO as Highway 401A.

Diagrammical overhead for the upcoming Highway 401/3B interchange.
This is the last interchange on Highway 401, and both options are access
routes to border crossings. The Detroit-Windsor tunnel (and Downtown
Windsor) are accessible via Highway 3B (Dougall Avenue). The 401 leads
traffic to the Ambassador Bridge via Highway 3.

overpass is located roughly at kilometre marker 15. West of this
overpass, Highway 401 encounters two closely spaced interchanges, and has a
very narrow central median. The two carriageways are separated with
steel w-style guardrail.

width between the two carriageways. This situation is very dangerous,
and thankfully, the MTO is currently upgrading this section of Highway. This project includes adding a Tall-Wall median
barrier separating the opposing directions of traffic.

due west, and is virtually dead-straight for the next 30 kilometres.
